Scotland’s Glencoe, also known as Glen Coe, is a stunning valley with volcanic origins that attracts visitors eager to experience the breathtaking Scottish Highlands scenery. Glen Coe is located in the northern part of Argyll County, within the Highlands of Scotland, and has earned the distinction of being both a national nature reserve and part of a national scenic area.
This picturesque location is ideal for hiking, mountain biking, and outdoor exploration.
It’s also a favorite spot for photographers, offering captivating vistas. The best times to visit Glencoe are between April and September when the longer daylight hours of summer enhance the experience. However, be aware that July and August can be crowded, with higher prices due to summer holidays. For a quieter visit, consider the shoulder seasons of spring and fall.
During winter, Glencoe becomes cold, dark, and snowy, making hiking and driving conditions challenging. If you’re traveling from Fort William, the Glencoe National Nature Reserve Visitor Centre is just 20 miles south along the A82. Additionally, buses connecting Fort William and Glasgow stop in Glencoe village, where it’s only a 1.5-mile walk or bike ride to reach the valley.

It's a a speckled mountain with an ascent of 841 metres located just in Perthshireof Pitlochry. It's one of the greatest trail walks for beginners with a total of 9.2km which can take a good 3 hours both ways. This beautiful mountain is surrender by moorlands and rocky trails. I climbed it twice once in summer and early spring, the climb isn't the easiest one and as you got left 150m ascent the weather can get unpredictable, I was caught in a freezing hail coming from every direction. Make sure you use the same route on the way back and you are weather dressed and gear.
